<<First Name>>,

Like every non-profit organization, Reconnect Rochester is facing financial uncertainty. As we re-tool or cancel planned programs and events and watch the prospects for grants and sponsorships decline, we worry about making payroll and keeping up the momentum of our work.

So far, thanks to a successful application for Paycheck Protection Program funding, and the generosity of supporting members during our last membership drive, we're doing alright. We give special thanks to our sustaining members whose monthly donations are proving crucial.

We know many of you are dealing with uncertainty and hardship on a personal level. We wish you and your loved ones physical, emotional and financial well-being throughout this challenging time.

If you're in position to do so, we would gratefully accept a contribution to help us continue to carry out our mission as we weather this storm.

Board member Arian Horbovetz shares why he sent us a portion of his federal stimulus check (without us even asking).
“I am thankfully still employed during this challenging time, so when I received my Federal stimulus check, I felt the responsibility to use a portion of it to support an organization I believe in.  Thirty-nine percent of essential workers rely on public transportation to access their jobs, so it only made sense to support an organization that advocates for strong transit in our community!”

Thanks, Arian. You're the best.

Advocacy Action

Reconnect Rochester works day in and day out to advocate for the things we all care about, like a robust public transportation system, streets that are safe for everyone, and a community that's built to be multi-modal.

Here are some actions YOU can take to support our current efforts:

Check out a recording of the "Placemaking 101" webinar put on by our friends at Community Design Center of Rochester last week. Featuring two or our favorite urbanists -- Arian Horbovetz and Shawn Dunwoody -- who do a fabulous job articulating how mobility is a key piece in the placemaking puzzle.

We want to hear from you! To ensure our work serves the community the best way we can, the RCA is undertaking a survey of the bike community. Everyone who fills the survey out will have a chance to win a gift card to a great area bike shop. Contact Jesse with any questions.

From the RCA: Until things return to normal, solo bike trips are helping so many of us stay sane, connect to nature & enjoy the Spring temperatures. Join us & share pictures of your bike rides by tagging your pics with #SoloBikingROCs. Pictured here is our latest RCA Instagram contributor, Natasha Dailey.
