Dear AISS Supporter,

In response to these tumultuous times, #GivingTuesday has organized a new #GivingTuesdayNow campaign for tomorrow. Normally in December, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving. Due to the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, all nonprofits have been affected in some way.

Right now, high school students' lives everywhere have been disrupted by the COVID-19 crisis. Many parents have been furloughed or laid off, and a rigorous school schedule must now take place entirely online. We are fortunate to be based in Santa Ana, where the SAUSD has tried their best to work with our scholars in this time, but as anyone in the education world can tell you, there are still many challenges. We at AISS are trying our very best to support our scholars both in our program and in their current schoolwork.

Our upcoming virtual fundraiser Bridging The Gap 8 will be targeted toward getting high-functioning laptops and providing other at home technologies for our scholars for this time and their future. The mission of the Achievement Institute of Scientific Studies (AISS) is to guide high achieving, economically disadvantaged high school students interested in pursuing a career in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. We not only help students get accepted into college, but also with the years beyond - through graduation and establishing their careers.
