1) Revelation chapters 2 and 3 have seven letters to the seven churches. In light of the significance of the number seven in Scripture and in the book of Revelation what do you think is the importance of there being seven churches?
2) Note that the name “Christ” appears 7 times in the book of Revelation (1:1, 2, 5; 11:15; 12:10; 20:4, 6). Look at the seven uses of “Christ” and what do you think is the significance of this?
3) Note that the name “Jesus” is used 7 times in accord with the designation “witness” (cf 1:2, 9; 12:17; 17:6; 19:10(2x); 20:4); what is the importance of this?
4) If the number four is used for creation, why do you think the title the “One who lives forever and ever” occurs four times in the book of Revelation (cf 4:9, 10; 10:6; 15:7)?
5) Based on the use of the #4, what do you think the 4 living creatures represent (cf 4:6, 8; 5:6, 8, 14)?
