Clinical Trial Readiness to Solve Barriers to Drug Development in FSHD (ReSolve FSHD)

ReSolve FSHD has 8 sites in the United States and 3 sites in Europe.
Maintaining Study Integrity While Ensuring Patient Safety

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made some changes to maintain the integrity of this important study, while making sure that patient safety is our first priority.

1) For patients that had visits cancelled during this period, the visits will be done remotely. You should receive communication directly from your site about when this will happen.

2) For Visits 3 and 4, we have extended the window by 3 months to allow these visits to be rescheduled when sites reopen. Your Site Coordinator will be in contact with you about when these will be rescheduled.

3) As we mentioned in our last newsletter, we are determining if we will add another visit at 24 or 30 months. We will make this decision once we have completed our interim data analysis in June, and update you all.
What's New?

Given this unprecedented event, we thought it was a rare opportunity to discover how a pandemic, or other similar health crisis, affects those with muscular dystrophy, including FSHD. We have created an anonymous survey to help capture how patients may be affected and how we can improve our current care practices going forward.

This survey is being conducted by Dr. Rabi Tawil at the University of Rochester.

If you are interested in participating, please view the Information Sheet, then click on the survey link below. The survey should take about 20 minutes. If it does not direct you to the survey, copy and paste the link into your preferred web browser.

If you have already completed this survey through another organization, then thank you for your invaluable participation!

If you have any questions, please contact Leann Lewis at the University of Rochester: leann_lewis@urmc.rochester.edu.
Despite the current situation, this is a very important time in FSHD research and we are committed to finishing this project.  Thank you for participating in ReSolve FSHD!
-Dr. Jeffrey Statland
The  FSHD Society has been hosting weekly webinars to share information and resources with its community. Dr. Statland,  Dr. Tawil and Dr. Tawil's wife, Dr. Guinwa Dumyati, Director of Communicable Disease Surveillance and Prevention at the University of Rochester Medical Center, gave a very informative talk about COVID-19 and FSHD.
