Coordinator PD & application form
The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria

Fungimap and its volunteers have been very fortunate to have been hosted for many years in the beautiful Herbarium building of the Royal Botanic Gardens. However, the Gardens staff numbers are increasing (and that's a good thing) and there are plans for redevelopment of the building. And, of course, Covid-19 has suspended our operation there.

So, we will move our online bookshop and Coordinator offsite. The important relationship we have with the Gardens and the mycologists who work there, including our founder, Dr Tom May, will continue as before. There will be scope in the short term for us to keep using 'our RBG office' for volunteer projects, helping with IDs, etc. and we will learn more about the time of any anticipated changes to that arrangement in due course.

This new way of working, primarily online, does give Fungimap more admin flexibility and the new coordinator can be from any state or territory - another step towards Fungimap being a truly national organisation.

Fungimap online shop is back in business!

Orders made over the last few lockdown weeks will soon be sent out, thanks to our very helpful volunteers. Good rain, at least in the eastern states, means fungi are on show everywhere so our fungi guides are in demand.

We have good stocks of two of our most recently published and highly regarded guides:  A Field Guide to Tasmanian Fungi and Australian Subtropical Fungi. Whilst the books are specific to those geographic areas, there are also many species in common so they are very useful in other states too. Both have great photographs and tips on ID.

If you like the work we do, give us your support by joining or giving Fungimap a donation - every little bit helps us spread the word ...
