Bountiful Harvest is open and our volunteers are working diligently to make sure no one goes hungry in Livingston County. We have gone from a two day a week pantry to a 4 1/2-day week. Serving those in need is our top priority as always. But now the need was too great to only be open two days. We also are serving hot meals every day (take-out if you pick up and with a grocery order if we are delivering to you).
We are now using an order shopping form so that you may call in the day before you want to receive your groceries. This grocery order will soon be available online. You pick the groceries you would like, and we will have them ready the next day for pickup or delivery. Yes, I said delivery. We are delivering groceries to those in Livingston County who need or prefer it. We are open for pickup Tuesday through Friday - 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm and Saturday - 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. If we receive your call for groceries on Saturday before 10:30 am you will be able to pick them up the same day between 11:30 am-12:00 pm. If you call after 10:30 am, your order will be ready for pickup or delivered on Tuesday between noon and 4:00 pm. Please note we are CLOSED on Sunday and Monday. Again, every grocery order goes out with a hot meal for everyone in the family.
Our family of clients have grown by 600 families. We are also providing breakfasts and lunches for approximately 700 children who are on the free and reduced lunch program when in school. This has been an extremely rewarding experience. So many of the children and parents have sent thank you notes, the children have drawn pictures and colored them for us and called to thank us. This ‘thanks’ is going out to all of you for making this possible.
During the last six weeks, we have distributed 76,231 pounds of food and 3,072 hot meals. We have distributed, in the first 4 months, well over half of what we distributed all of last year. Just in the month of April, we distributed a little over 50,000 pounds of food vs 19,000 last April and have given out 2,200 hot meals vs 831 in 2019.
We at Bountiful Harvest are operated 100% by volunteers. THESE VOLUNTEERS ARE SO WONDERFUL AND SO APPRECIATED. They are making a huge difference in the lives of our children, seniors, disabled, veterans, those who have lost their jobs, shut-ins and homeless. Without our volunteers, we would never be able to serve the people of this community. These volunteers are so dedicated
and loyal to this community.
We are Blessed and Proud to have them.
They are the foundation and building blocks of our Mission.
The community of Livingston County has come together to help the ones in need. The restaurants in Brighton, Howell, Hartland and even Ann Arbor have donated food for our clients. The Walled Lake, Whitmore Lake, Brighton, and Hartland schools have also been generous and wonderful.
Food donations come in daily from the community.
Monetary donations have been coming in from wonderful people who have supported us in the past and fantastic people we have never met.
You all are the Core and Foundation of this Community.
There are not enough ways or words
to say how much you are valued.
We thank you all for your support both in the past and in the future. We will get through this together and with a smile on our faces, because TOGETHER WE TOOK CARE OF OUR COMMUNITY AND IN DOING SO MADE IT BETTER.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
Have a Blessed Month
