Bulla, with the help of THRIVE Winter Park, delivered 75 meals to the Skilled Nursing staff at the Mayflower Retirement Community.
As our community begins to smartly and slowly re-open, let’s not forget that there is still need. With that in mind, please consider a donation to THRIVE Winter Park.

THRIVE, designed to enable and accelerate our city’s recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, is a 501-c-3 funded initiative with three key goals:
  1. To meet the immediate needs in our community, such as our Feed The Frontline initiative, which buys food from local restaurants and delivers it to healthcare workers
  2. To evaluate emerging needs and build recovery models
  3. To build capacity for a robust recovery
It has raised more than $68,800.

THRIVE Winter Park appreciates the generosity of those who continue to give. Your donation will be processed through the Winter Park Improvement Foundation. Solicitation registration # - CH62087.  Please visit winterpark.org/thrive.

Come Out And Enjoy
A Special Mother’s Day Weekend

Come enjoy special socially distant shopping and dining experiences throughout the city of Winter Park on Mother’s Day weekend. Restaurants in the city limits that obtain a permit can extend their services outside during the weekend and retail businesses can have mini sidewalk sales.
Restaurants must have a permit to expand seating outside and retailers wishing to have more than one rack or table outside also must have one. Permit applications are due today. Go to cityofwinterpark.org/MomsDayApplication. Retailers with only one rack or table outside do not need a permit.
To facilitate safe outdoor seating downtown, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. through Sunday at 11 p.m., the following streets will be closed:
  • Park Avenue (south of Swoope Avenue to Fairbanks Avenue)
  • New England Avenue (between Pennsylvania and Virginia avenues)
  • Morse Boulevard (between Center Street and New York Avenue)
In compliance with Gov. DeSantis’ executive order, restaurants that obtain a permit can extend their dining experience outdoors to maintain the 6-feet required between patrons. Allowing retailers to hold mini-sidewalk sales will help them with the executive order’s 25% capacity rule.
“As we continue to take methodical steps to re-open the city following the state’s guidelines, we are hosting this special weekend to not only help our business community, but to also give the public a chance to support our local businesses, celebrate Mother’s Day, and practice social distancing to make this a safe and enjoyable success,” said Michelle Neuner, Assistant City Manager.

Don’t miss our webinar at 4 p.m. today when Michelle and City Manager Randy Knight will discuss the plans for Mother’s Day weekend as well as other news on re-opening. Click here to register for the webinar. For more information about this special weekend, please email licensing@cityofwinterpark.org.
