New Section 301 Exclusions Announced

The USTR announced a new set of 146 product exclusions covering goods found on Round 3 of the Section 301 tariffs for China origin goods. These exclusions will be retroactive to September 24, 2018 and are set to expire on August 7, 2020. The provisional number used to claim these exclusions is 9903.88.46 and it will be effective once Customs has updated their system.

This is the 27th set of exclusions granted for goods under this trade action and it covers a wide variety of products from foods to chemicals to furniture. All but two of the granted exclusions are limited to the written description provide in the announcement.

Exclusion Extensions To Be Considered

In other news regarding Section 301 tariffs, the USTR issued a notice requesting comments regarding possible extensions for 11 product exclusions granted on Round 3. All of these exclusion lists are set to expire on August 7, 2020.

Comments must be submitted on the USTR’s Section 301 portal. Comments must be submitted separately for each granted exclusion. Information on this process may be found on the USTR website.
