Summer School
Summer school will take place this year from Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 31. Mrs. Bussan & Mrs. Yearous (our new 5th grade teacher) will host the math class, while Ms. Loyd and Mrs. Grover will host the reading class. The cost for one program is $100 or $150 if your child is attending both. If you have multiple children attending please contact me at school so we can discuss further cost reduction. Payment is expected on the first day of summer school.
All participants must wear a mask. If you do not have one, one will be provided. The Indee Food Pantry is distributing masks free of charge. You can contact them at 319-334-2451
Summer Reading
Again this summer, if your child is entering grades 2 through 8, he/she will be
required to read. If they are an incoming 2nd through 4th grader, the student will be required to read two books. If they are entering 5th through 8th grade, they are required to read three books. Reading will be verified through the
Reading Counts program. If the book does not exist in the Reading Counts library please contact your child's teacher for approval. I will be here Monday through Friday each day, from 8am - 2pm; exceptions can be made by contacting me. I will be available to your students so they can return and check out books as well as take the
Reading Counts tests. Most of the books on the list are available in our Public library. Those students who read seven books or more will be invited to breakfast, hosted by the principal.
