All on campus activities at Abiding Savior Church, School and Preschool have been suspended at this time.

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Relaunching In-Person Worship

I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

Psalm 122:1

We are planning to relaunch our in-person worship on Sunday, June 14, with an 8:00 AM Classic Worship Service and a 10:15 AM Abiding Praise Service. We want to make sure everyone who wants to worship with us in-person will be able to do so comfortably within appropriate spacing and careful celebration of The Lord’s Supper. We will take every reasonable step to ensure that the space is appropriately cleaned before, between, and after each worship service. Those attending in-person may choose for themselves if they are going to wear a mask. Our plan is to provide a mask if you do not have one and would like to wear one. Finally, please know that our worship services for the foreseeable future will be in the Luther Fellowship Hall in which we have the ability to reliably and throughly clean common surfaces including chairs, door handles, bathrooms, etc.

To Help Us Plan: Please share with us if and when you will comfortably return to in-person worship at Abiding Savior be completing this brief form: Returning To Worship Form

Please know that the relaunch of worship may slide further into the future based on what we believe to be reasonable state guidelines.

Annual Congregation Assembly

May 31, 2020
11:30 AM
Via Zoom

Fellow members, we hope that you are all keeping safe and pray for God’s continued blessings on your lives.  Due to all that’s happening right now with the COVID-19 virus we’ve decided to not hold our third quarter Congregation Assembly this year and move up our Annual Congregation Assembly to May 31, 2020.  Please note our meeting on May 31 will be by video conference only, with a link being forwarded to you shortly via email.  In addition, we will be shortening our Annual Meeting to only cover those matters that must be addressed: 1) approving an annual budget, 2) election of new officers for the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, and Congregation Liaison, and 3) extend a Call to Laura Siegert to serve as a teacher in our Preschool. You can see more about Laura below.  We will continue with our tradition of holding budget forums prior to our annual meeting by having video conferences on May 21 at 7pm and May 23 at 9am.  Please see the links below for the meetings and draft budget.

Lastly, if you have any nominations for the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, and Congregation Liaison, please email those to either myself at stevewichmann3@gmail.com or Pastor Glenn at glucas@abidingsavior.com.  Thank you for helping to continue our mission during these challenging times.

Laura Siegert

Mrs. Laura Siegert
Preschool Teacher Candidate

I love learning and teaching about the Lord and the world that he has given us. This world is truly a marvel, especially the people in it.  I have been teaching in Lutheran schools for over 25 years working with children ages 2-14.

I have earned both a BA and an MA in education from Concordia University in Irvine.

I am blessed with a truly wonderful family. My husband,  Mark, is a pastor serving at CUI and my son, MJ, is a music student there.

My favorite gifts from God are reading (especially with children), hiking with friends, and ringing handbells.

A graduate of Abiding Savior Lutheran School, Haley Babineau has received the Outstanding Senior Award at Concordia University, Irvine.  In order to get this award, you have to have a certain GPA, exemplify CUI's vision statement, volunteer, be active!  Former student Haley also aides in first grade, teaches Sunday School, and works in extended care.  She is also a recipient of the Ladies Guild Scholarship Fund.
