PROGRESSION & PLAN
#1. Where we start (blurred, dry painting from last week)
#2 Laying in and correcting color, value and edges
#3 Finishing, blending and finessing!
Part 2 video is ONE HOUR & 41 minutes so I will not show the whole thing in class. I will skim through and discuss the various stages and tips for working, taking questions and observations as we go. I'll send VIDEO LINK at 12 noon tomorrow as soon as class is over, in case you want to work through step by step.
You can Participate in at least 3 different ways:
1. Listen & watch
2. Paint along as I am teaching
3. Listen, watch, then work later on the painting.
Whatever level is comfortable for you, I am happy to critique you afterward and those working during class I will try to critique in between my teaching segments and afterward. If after class, I may not get right back with you, but I will!!
A KEY ELEMENT in this study: Try to set aside enough time to work WET INTO WET. This is really important in getting the feel for the way Sargent worked.
I worked for 3 hours on this last stage, throughout the day, stopping for dinner. Edited it down to 1:41. There is more I could do on this to make it more like his but I chose to stop at this point.
