As you know, Linn County has been approved to move into the State of Oregon's Phase 1 of reopening. Here's what that means for the Albany Public Library.

Both branches of the library will not be opening our doors to the public during Phase 1. Capacity limits of 25 or fewer people, extra cleaning, and PPE requirements make the logistics of reopening untenable at this point.
We have had cleaning supplies on order since March, and despite our best efforts, we don’t have the quantity of supplies on hand to clean everything with the frequency needed to safely allow people back in.

Curbside pickup coming soon
Fortunately we will soon be able offer curbside pickup of library materials. Please visit our website and Facebook page for an announcement on when curbside services will begin.

Returning Materials
You may now return library items to the book drops but know that if you are not ready to venture out, the due dates on materials have been extended to July 15th.

Summer Reading Program
We have also decided to hold Summer Reading for kids and teens and adults this year. Although we can’t have all our fun programs this year, we are still planning one prize pick-up, a few cool virtual events, and some community-wide activities as well.
Last year we had 3,762 readers sign up, and 3,047 got all the way to the end! It’s a different sort of year, but let’s do our best to keep reading in Albany all summer long.
