Sarah Nadeau-Balducci, Executive Director and Miss Maine '96
In Loving Memory of Wes Thames
Our endless thoughts and prayers are with Audrey Thames, Miss Maine 2014, her mom Karen, and the rest of her family on the devastating loss of Wes.

Wes Thames was unmatched in his dedication to the Miss Maine Scholarship Program, serving selflessly as Executive Director until recently. The Miss Maine Scholarship Program owes him a debt of gratitude that cannot be repaid, and will not be the same without him. Rest well, friend.
All Competitions Postponed
The Miss America Organization announced that, in light of challenges posed by COVID 19, this year's Miss America Competition will be postponed until late 2021. As a result, this year's Miss Maine and Miss Maine's Outstanding Teen competitions will be postponed until the spring of 2021.

Our organization depends upon and prioritizes the health and safety of our candidates, our volunteers, and our audience. Additionally, every young woman who competes in this organization deserves to have a great experience that lives up to or exceeds her expectations based on the traditions of Miss Maine and Miss America.  It seems certain that any competition experience in 2020 - as a candidate, a volunteer, or an audience member - would be negatively impacted by the COVID19 virus.

The Miss Maine Scholarship Program will use this unexpected time as a blessing to raise more scholarship money, to provide more opportunities for young women in Maine to learn and grow, to engage more volunteers, and move toward spring 2021 competition that showcases our values of service, scholarship, style, and success.

In light of the postponement of this year's competition because of COVID-19, we are so grateful and happy to share that Carolyn and Jane have agreed to hold their titles and see us through to 2021!  These two young women truly have servants' hearts and our state and our communities are lucky to have them for this extended and challenging period.

To our Class of 2020 that intended to compete for Miss Maine and Miss Maine's Outstanding Teen this year - there are no words to soothe your disappointment.  You are loved and appreciated, and we hope you will still join us next year to show the State of Maine and Miss America the best of all you do.  We'll be back and better than ever!
Sign up for the Miss Maine & MMEOT 2021 Competitions
Maine is an “open state” which means that ANYONE who fulfills the requirements to compete CAN compete for Miss Maine or Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen. Women and girls do not need to win a local title to compete in either of our competitions. Sign-ups for the Miss Maine and Miss Maine's Outstanding Teen Competitions are open.
