CEC resources on COVID-19 in several languages

 
Reflections on the role of churches and COVID-19 in Europe prepared by CEC’s Thematic Group on Education, Democracy and Diversity are now available in French and German. Also, prepared by CEC's Thematic Group on Human Rights, Reflections on Freedom of Religion or Belief during the fight against the COVID-19 are available in Bulgarian, Hungarian, German, Greek, Portuguese, Romanian, Serbian, Spanish and Swedish. Fullness of the Spirit and joy of life

As COVID-19 presents a prophetic moment, adopt an Economy of Life, urge global religious groups


The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a new urgency to adopting an “Economy of Life,” and global religious groups that represent millions of people are saying now is the time. In a joint message, the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Lutheran World Federation, and Council of World Mission urged governments to bolster support for healthcare and social protection. Bedford-Strohm: "Do not be satisfied with the world as it is"


In an interactive digital gospel service, the chairman of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), Bishop Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, promoted courageous changes in church and society. "I am not satisfied with the world as it is," said the Council President in his sermon, which was transmitted by Zoom from St. Luke's Church in Munich. Read in German

CEC's 7th Summer School on Human Rights will be held online from 7 to 10 July 2020. The event will address the theme “Freedom of Religion or Belief in the Public Sphere”. Learn more

European Regional Pre-Assembly for WCC 11th Assembly

CEC, as regional ecumenical organisation (REO), cooperating with the World Council of Churches (WCC), will hold the European Regional Pre-Assembly ahead of the WCC 11th Assembly. The Pre-Assembly will take place from 18 to 20 February 2021 in Warsaw, Poland, in cooperation with the Polish Ecumenical Council. Read more

Wellbeing of Digitalized Societies and Work Place


The Church Action on Labour and Life (CALL) Network will hold a conference “Wellbeing of Digitalized Societies and Work Place” from 11 to 13 March 2021 at the Cultural Center Saint-Thomas in Strasbourg. CALL is a Europe-wide network that seeks to address employment and related economic and social issues. Learn more

European Christian Environmental Network Assembly

The Assembly of the European Christian Environmental Network (ECEN), addressing the theme “Reconciled with creation: a call for urgent action on climate and biodiversity” will be held from 28 May to 2 June 2021 at the Evangelical Academy Bad Herrenalb, Germany. Read more
