Online community and resources are more important than ever right now. We aim to keep you up to date on how COVID-19 is impacting our members and community. We are also sharing inspiring news putting people and planet first; these stories will help get us through these times.

HEAD START - What's happening now

If COVID-19 forces classes to remain online, should universities cut tuition?
As Canada continues to work to stem the spread of the virus, it appears as though most learning will remain online. Many students at Canadian universities say they shouldn’t have to pay full tuition if it does.

College made them feel equal. The virus exposed how unequal their lives really are.
When they were all in the same dorms and eating the same dining hall food, the disparities in students’ backgrounds weren’t as clear as they are over video chat.

There’s something special about hearing someone’s voice. You can hear inflections in their tone, pick up on hesitation, or be swept up in a rush of excitement. Audio adds an extra layer of depth to a message. That’s why Yellowknife artist Aidan McMahon partnered with a few other collaborators to start Through The Wall, an audio penpal project.
