Dear eProgress Newsletter Sign-up
We hope you are keeping well and have been able to enjoy longer periods of outdoor exercise now the Government guidelines have changed.
This week we had our first remote meeting which was well received though there were some technical issues which we worked hard to resolve in time for our second remote meeting, Annual Council. You can watch a recording of the Extraordinary Policy & Finance Committee online. We won't lie, we do miss having all our Councillors in the Millennium Chamber.
We are delighted to announce that we have a new Mayor. On Thursday 14th May, Councillor David Chace, who represents Brookfield Ward, became the First Citizen of the Town at the first-ever remote Annual Council meeting (watch the recording). The Town Mayor has made a video in which he tells us which charities he has chosen for his Mayoral year watch it here.
The Mayor’s fellow Liberal Democrat Councillor Michelle Molloy will become Deputy Mayor for the next 12 months and Mayor Elect.
Our Museum team have been doing some really interesting digital content including some virtual events to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. Do visit their website to discover more.
As you will probably know by now you can contact us via email and find out about our services on our website. We have had many enquiries from potential allotment holders but for the time being we are unable to let out plots but are adding people to a waiting list.
