Class of 2023 Guidance Update

Quarter 4 & Semester 2 Grades

• The last day of school for all students will be Friday, May 22. Please make sure your child is continuing to access their schoolwork until this date. There will be no half days or early release days for seniors. 
• 2nd semester (January-May) grades will be calculated by averaging the 3rd quarter grade (50%) and 4th quarter grade (50%). There will not be any semester exams.
• Report cards will be posted on Focus Student & Parent Portals on June 2, 2020.

Parent Portal Account Instructional Videos

• The ECSD Information Technology Department has created a series of instructional videos to assist parents in accessing and learning the new features and settings available in the Focus Parent Portal program. The videos offered at http://ecsd-fl.schoolloop.com/focuspp include:

Summer School

• Two virtual summer school sessions will be held on June 8-17 and July 6-15, 2020.
• Please have your child check their school email at both the beginning of June, and the beginning of July, so they do not miss out on any important information.

Course Registration

• I have attempted to contact all freshmen to complete course registration. If your child did not sign up for an appointment, or missed their appointment, I will continue to reach out via phone in May and June.
• In order to check your child's 2020-2021 course requests, follow the steps below:
  • Log onto their Focus Account (or your parent account)
  • Change the year in the upper right hand corner to 2020-2021 (This will turn the top of the screen red)
  • Click on the "My Information" menu (A small backpack symbol, located on either the top or left hand side of the screen)
  • Click on "Class Requests"
• To view the 2020-2021 10th grade course request card, click here.
• The deadline to change 2020-2021 course requests is May 29, 2020.

Alternative Summer Feeding Programs

• The district will continue to provide school meals via curb side service until May 22, 2020. For other options throughout the summer, please click here.

Counselor Contact

• Over the summer, counselors do not work on a full-time basis, as they do during the school year. Once my schedule is finalized, it will be posted on the Guidance section of the BTWHS website. Thank you for a great freshman year! It didn't end the way we expected, but I've been impressed with how our students, parents and teachers have handled this unprecedented challenge. I hope to see you all on campus in August 2020!
