Week of May 15, 2020

Dear Guardian Angels School Families,

Our final academic week of this incredible year is in a few days. The entire staff would like to thank all of you for your dedication and support all throughout the year. Especially during these last few months. We could not have made it without your support.

The last theme for the Positivity Project focuses on gratitude. Gratitude is the quality of feeling and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It is an affirmation that there is goodness in other people and the world, and that we have received that goodness. People with the strength of gratitude have a readiness to show appreciation for kindness and also to return kindness.

Gratitude is about being aware of the consideration, kindness, and generosity of others. We all need to help our children to be aware of and thankful for what is good. Especially in times like these.

We will send out information next week about grading and the collection of all the materials that need to be returned to school. A Signup Genius will be sent out for families to sign up for a time to return textbooks, library books, laptops with the chargers and bags along with Chromebooks with their chargers. Anyone who still owes payment for lunch can bring in their final payment. Several restrictions will be enforced in order to keep everyone safe. Details about these restrictions will be in the information sent next week.

We are looking forward to seeing our 8th grade class at graduation on June 2nd and all of you at our final school mass on June 3rd. More details will come after the PTO meeting next week.

Get out and enjoy the beautiful weekend!

Blessings to you all!

A Million Families and A Million Rosaries: The Little Sisters of the Poor have launched the campaign to ask families to pray the rosary for an end to the coronavirus pandemic. You may encourage your school community to sign up at littlesistersofthepoor.org. The campaign’s flyer is located here.
Mrs. Podominick had the kids write a paragraph or poem with the topic "Cool or Creepy: to tell about an animal that fits the criteria. Here are a few samples of their work.

Spiders

By: Zoe. Z

I think spiders are cool creatures
They’re very fast and sometimes hairy
Though some people may find them scary
You can find them in many places
Have you seen all the eyes on their faces?
Their bodies can be very coarse to the touch
But make sure that you don't scare the spider too much
They might bite
You should take care of them and do what’s right
With their eight legs they’ll scurry around
Dusty places are where they might be found
Though sometimes they might be sneaky
Spiders aren’t really that creepy

The Snake

By: Jaidan Osceola

He slithers in a zig-zag line pattern.
His scaly, glistening, noodle of a body
Soft and velvety, I think I’ll call him Toddy.
The hiss that rises from his tongue.
While he lies in the grass soaking up the sun.

By
Nina

I choose the parrot
A bird that is chirps and feels so soft,
No matter where it goes
It spreads its love with its wings that glow,
Like the wintery window with frost.

Beach Day in Middle School today!  Hope you had your sun screen on!
The first and second grade were challenged to make a nature collage this week.  Here area  few examples.
Thanks to the Zamora family for helping to plant the garden this past weekend.  And thank you to Mrs. Cook for organizing our garden efforts.
Where in Guardian Angels School is our Guardian Angel?

The first five families to respond and tell Mrs. Lovegreen where our Guardian Angel is located in our school will get a surprise in the mail.
