Weekly E-Newsletter
Hello to all our students at CRCC. We hope you are still keeping well after all these weeks of close down.
On Monday May 11th the Victorian Premier announced that there would be a cautious easing of some of the restrictions that have been in place during this time. But he continued to stress - if you can stay at home, you must stay at home. The Maroondah Council have also advised us that we may only use our facilities for essential training (such as First Aid) and essential community support groups (such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotic Anonymous, parents groups and youth groups), with appropriate social distancing in place. At this stage we have been told not to restart our General Adult Education programs face-to-face.
Here at Central Ringwood Community Centre we fully support the need to take a very cautious approach to opening up our services. Our most important concern is with protecting vulnerable individuals who come to our Centre, while doing our best to provide programs that can help keep our students connected while they're at home. At present we are running online courses in Watercolours, Oil Painting, Needlecraft, Crochet, Spanish, Italian and Meditation, and we have some short workshops coming up as well. We are also running our pre-accredited courses (the Computer Program and Conversational English) on line and are offering support through email and phone calls to our Developing Skills for the Workplace program. We will continue to run these programs online for the rest of term 2, and we are also considering continuing with these on line courses, where possible, during term 3. If we are able to re-start face to face courses in term 3 we will arrange to hold them in rooms that enable safe distancing between all participants.
