COVID 19 STATEMENT

[UPDATED FRIDAY 15TH OF MAY]
Update highlights:
  • EHSalon remains temporarily closed.
  • All appointments rescheduled to July.
  • Online booking open and getting booked up.
  • Salon opening hours expanded.
  • Guests with booked appointments that haven't received SMS/Email with updated date, please get in touch.
  • EHBlowdry Club memberships now cancelled.
  • Team Members all complete COVID19 Hygiene Certification.

To all our Guests, from all the team and ourselves at EHSalon, we are sending all our love, and wishes of safety and health right now.

We appologies firstly for a longer break in our newsletters this time, simply; we wanted to wait until we had the correct, reliable information to pass on to you - we wouldn't want to jump to conclusions in terms of when or how we will be reopening and in what circumstances that will be.

Therefore with each announcement by the government we have waited for further clarification from the NHBF and our business adviser before making any announcements ourselves; in this way we hope that we always give you, to the best of our knowledge and research, the correct advice at the time.

To this end, as I am sure you already know it was announced early this week that hair salons would not be permitted to reopen until July, at the earliest. 

This we believe is the right decision.

We have therefore begun making preparations, in terms of moving bookings, but also distancing measures ready for a July opening.

Appointments.
All guests who had upcoming appointments have now been moved to July onwards. If you had an appointment, you should now have received an email or sms with the new appointment date and time.

If this date and time is not suitable you can either visit our website and rearrange to a different date, via our online booking system, or simply get in touch by Facebook or email and we will be happy to rearrange this for you.

Please be aware that due to expected social distancing (covered below) and compression of appointments; spaces are limited, but we will try our best to work with you to find an appointment that suits.

On the subject of social distancing rules (covered below); regrettably, children's appointments will not be available for the first few weeks after opening. 

Those children's appointments currently booked will be honoured, however we will not be accepting any more at this time - this is to reduce the number of guests in the salon at any one time.

Additionally we will no longer be able to allow dogs (or any other animal) in to the salon, unless they are a service animal.  

If you have not received an email or sms, and have an appointment booked - please get in touch, it may be that we have incorrect contact details for you.
Social Distancing.
Perhaps the most challenging element to reopening any business right now is the social distancing rules and recommendations - especially for an industry which requires our team to be in contact with our guests.

From advice given to us we are expecting that the distancing rule and PPE recomendations, will be in place when we reopen.

With this in mind we have chosen to make some key changes to the way we conduct our appointments after reopening:

We expect to be limiting the number of people (staff and guests) in the salon at any one time.

We will have adequate PPE for our team, as well as sterilisation procedures in place.

Our timetable has been expanded to 7 days a week, to spread appointments and minimise numbers. 

Appointment times have been extended and will be on a strict one to one basis.

We will no longer be accepting cash payment; pre-payment through our online booking is ideal, contactless payment is preferable, or regular card transactions are fine.

Consultations will now all be conducted online via video call - we will provide an easy method to do so nearer to the time.

Patch testing will also be completed in a different manner in the future, preventing the need to enter the salon - details to follow.

We welcome any questions on the above measures, however please keep in mind that the situation as ever is fluid, and may change based on the best advice at the time.
EHBlowdry Club.
Firstly, I wish to thank those of you in the blowdry club who have continued to pay their subscriptions - as said these will be reimbursed in the form of EHBlowdry Club vouchers codes to the value of or exceeding that which you have remained members during our closure - these are banked and ready for use in the future.

We could not have foreseen the length of time that our salon would be closed, but now with the latest extension, have come to the conclusion that we will relaunch a brand new EHBlowdry club in September.

You will have noticed therefore that we have begun to cancel all currently subscribed.

We will be sending a separate email explaining this, directly to blowdry club members, so please keep an eye out for that email.
All the team have now completed COVID19 CERT

With our guests safety a priority, every member of the team have now completed the Barbicide, certified COVID19 Hygiene and safety course, in preparation for our return.
Our last piece of news is exciting: Jody will be returning following her maternity leave AND Maria is expecting her second baby! 

Maria's maternity will begin in early July, so will not be returning to work until baby arrives.

Obviously we, and Maria's guests will be sad but with safety in mind - it's the right decision.
For those of you at home, and those still needing to work, especially those of you who are front line workers, thank you and please stay safe - these short term restrictions will hopefully ensure a more swift return to normality sooner rather than later..

Thank you to all our guests, for all your support, kind words, well wishes and understanding of our current situation - we are missing you all and salon life itself right now!
