Hudson Market 2020 — Week 16
View this email in your browser
Spring has SPRUNG at the Hudson Farmers Market! If you get to market early enough you'll be able to find things like PLANTSSTRAWBERRIES, RHUBARB, LETTUCE, and EGGS.
DOWN TO BUSINESS:

1:
Many of our vendors are offering pre-order pickups through their websites and social media pages. THIS is your best way to secure what you want at market AND grab-n-go.

2: We encourage our OLDER and IMMUNE-COMPROMISED customers to shop with us during the morning hours. 9AM and 10AM is our SLOWEST time-- this is when we think it would be safest for you!

3: Almost ALL OF YOU are doing your part to help us be a SAFE SPACE for our community (attention outliers: you really need to wear masks when you come shopping; if too much of this happens WE have to answer to the CITY and possibly face shutdown)

4: The newsletter will mostly be devoted to reminding you of the PRECAUTIONS and PROTOCOLS we MUST follow in order to continue operating. We will be sneaking in some extra special info from time to time about what you can find weekly from various vendors and recipes we love!

5: SNAP/EBT is back! Head over to the Scarecrow Farm tent to use the machine.
RECIPE IDEA:
For Mother's Day we made a delicious Italian lemon almond cake. We made a few substitutions: blood oranges instead of lemon and duck eggs from Northern Star Farm instead of chicken eggs. If you haven't baked with duck eggs, you are SERIOUSLY missing out on something special.

The fat content helps cakes rise higher, taste richer, and have a fluffier texture. They are AMAZING!
MARKET ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Trixie, known for the most delicious cookies in town, just launched a website for all of Hudson's happenings. This site is meant to be a searchable, one-stop-shop to find all the goings-ons in town.
It's like taking the normal conversations we hear at Trixie's stand and digitizing them! This is a HUGE service to the community and we thank you.
Township Valley is officially back at market! They will have a gorgeous selection of mushrooms-- oysters, shiitakes, tinctures, and CBD oils. They will set up in the St John's Church lot, in between Churchtown Garden and Raven & Boar.
LOCATIONS and TIME:

Market is now operating in TWO SPOTS-- the municipal lot at 6th and Columbia Street AND the metered lot behind St Johns Church (just a bit down the block). Hours are 9AM to 1PM! Reminder: you can line up before 9AM, but we can't start selling until then.
Vendors at the 6th and Columbia St location: Blue Star Farm, Martin Farm, Northern Star Farm, Samascott's Orchard, and Ardith Mae

Vendors at the St Johns lot: Happy Belly, Bonhomie Farm, Red Oak Farm, Rock N Raw, Trixie's Oven, Spacey Tracy's Pickles, Sparrowbush Farm, Cedar Flower Farm, Scarecrow Farm, Hudson Roasters, Churchtown Gardens, Township Valley, Berkshire Mountain Bakery, Raven and Boar, Farm at Miller's Crossing, Pura Vida, and Billy's Italian Market!

PLUS Chaseholm Farm and Letterbox Farm will be operating under the same tent AND Highland Farm and The Cidermakers will be alternating weeks (this week is Highland)
PRECAUTIONS and PROTOCOLS:
We are requiring each vendor to wear gloves and a mask–– plus they will have bottles of hand sanitizer available for use at their stands. We will have a handwashing station at the market (with instructions).

We are spreading vendors between two spots in response to social distancing requirements.

We are encouraging you to continue coming to the market, but make your shopping as efficient as possible. Remember: GRAB and GO! We love you and we understand that the market is social time, but if we don't enforce this WE WILL BE SHUT DOWN. Please help us out by heading home as soon as you're done!

Please remember to wear your mask and use your sanitizer when shopping.

Please ask vendors for help with their product and be patient with the lines.

Above all, if you're feeling sick please stay home-- have someone else do your shopping!
Be safe and attentive THIS Saturday! And please, remember to bring your reusable bags  ❤❤
