City reopening some facilities
Yesterday, the Government of Ontario announced that some businesses and services will be permitted to open, as part of the first stage of the government's reopening framework.
In response to the Provincial announcement, the City of Barrie is reopening the following facilities:
Tiffin Boat Launch
The Tiffin Boat Launch will reopen to the public under specific guidelines on Saturday, May 16.
Marinas
Barrie's Marina, Marina boat launch and transient boat docks located at the base of Bayfield Street will reopen on Friday, May 22. Visit barrie.ca/marina for more information.
Dog Off-Leash Recreation Area
The City's Dog Off-Leash Recreation Area (DOLRA) on Bayview Drive will reopen on Tuesday, May 19. The Sunnidale Park DOLRA remains closed for an ongoing project that began last fall. Visit barrie.ca/DOLRA for more information.
City tennis courts
Tennis courts are anticipated to reopen the week of May 25. Physical distancing and sanitation guidelines will remain in place. Maintenance work, safety checks and net installation need to be completed before the courts can open.
