Housebound 8 May - 19 June

It's Friday, do you know what that means?

Housebound, our curated art exhibition on Instagram, has been updated with new artwork, and this morning we enjoyed an interview with featured artist Phil Illingworth, one of the featured artists.

For 5 weeks, curator Susan Francis is selecting artwork for Housebound, an online art exhibition which responds to the rooms in an average house. The Bedroom and The Bathroom are showing now. The Living Room will appear next week.

Weekly Artist Interview 2/5

Phil Illingworth

Over the last decade Phil Illingworth has has created highly crafted, beautifully considered pieces of work with very intriguing titles. His work can look like sculpture and wall installations but he presents them as paintings. In Housebound, Illingworth is showing work titled "84% Agree" (pictured above). He talks about it in the interview
which offers a fascinating insight into his process of thinking and developing works over (sometimes) many years. Illingworth has exhibited in the UK, the USA, China, and in Europe including the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been selected for the John Moores Painting Prize, the Marmite Prize IV, and the Jerwood Drawing Prize.
