New Morning Sermon Series
The Resurrection Changes Everything!
After Jesus’ ascension, the disciples are told that they would carry the
message of healing and hope in the gospel to the ends of the earth. Jesus
instructed them to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit that would
spread the resurrection power of heaven to the ends of the earth. This
series follows our three-year study in the Gospel of Luke and will focus
on how the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the coming of the Holy
Spirit shaped the theology, hearts, and actions of the early Church in
their obedience to Christ’s command to “Make Disciples of All Nations.”
Beginning in the book of Acts, we will look at major passages in the New
Testament that help us see how The Resurrection Changes Everything.

New Evening Summer Sermon Series
Persevering Faith: Ancient Witnesses to a Future Hope
This summer, we will further explore the stories of ordinary saints, as
specified in Hebrews 11, who demonstrated extraordinary belief in the
unseen promises of God. Through God’s gift of faith, these Old Testament
believers were commended for exemplifying faithful obedience and
enduring trust in God, in the midst of hardship and persecution. By God’s
preserving grace, we too will live by faith and persevere to the end, as we
fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Please plan to attend the virtual Missionary Prayer Hour next Sunday at 5 p.m. via Zoom as we pray for missionaries serving around the world, including those sent out by us, and missionaries serving in very hard places in these very hard times. Email missions@firstpresaugusta.org to receive the Zoom login link.

Sign Up Today for Summer Study
It is not too late to sign up for discussion groups for A Heart Set Free. In this season of global crisis and uncertainty, our need for hope has never been greater.  Christina Fox, licensed counselor and Women’s Ministry Advisor, is a skilled guide through lament to hope in her book, A Heart Set Free: The Journey to Hope through the Psalms of Lament. She invites us to vulnerability, transparency and trust, particularly when life is hard. Through the pages of this study, we are invited into conversation and immersed in Scripture all while cultivating an abiding hope. The content is rich enough for the seasoned student, yet light enough for summer enrichment. Groups are available at various days and times. We eagerly look forward to a rich time in God’s Word as we study and fellowship together in our virtual discussion groups! Register today!

Books may be purchased on Amazon (Kindle version only) and through Westminster Seminary Online Bookstore (paperback).
