Video: Victorian Dress at Fort Delaware State Park
 

Fort Delaware State Park is a former Civil War fort that was used as a Union prison camp to house Confederate soldiers. The fort is open to the public, and if you visit, you'll meet costumed interpreters dressed as they would have during the 1860s. In this video, we are going to show you how upper-class Victorian ladies dressed during Civil War times. There are a lot of layers including corsets, petticoats, hoopskirts and more, but we will take you through each layer and explain the purpose of the garments.

Blog: P&N Railroad of White Clay Creek
 

In the late 1860s through the 1930s, coal-fired trains ran 39 miles from Pomeroy, PA through Newark, down to Delaware City. This railroad line passed through valleys and ran along waterways such as White Clay Creek. The route transported a variety of goods ranging from cattle and milk to walnut logs and peaches.
