Case Study: How PRC eased the stress of a local nonprofit during the pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, PR Consulting managed public relations and communications for a Whatcom County skilled nursing center. Our team worked with leaders of the nonprofit healthcare organization to develop and publish a robust array of notifications to a variety of stakeholders — staff members, residents, families and the general public — using digital and traditional media.

PR Consulting created and managed a number of broadcasting platforms for sharing information with stakeholders:
  • Regular alerts posted on the center’s website containing COVID-19 updates, sometimes multiple times per day.
  • Email newsletters and updates for community members.
  • Facebook posts for family and loved ones that shared lighthearted moments while dispersing accurate updates.
  • Printable Q&A flyers for staff members that answered their questions about COVID-19.
  • Blog posts and news updates, which were published on CHCC’s website and distributed through owned media channels.
  • Media releases and other news outlet placement.

What PRC has been working on:

Patti: Socially distant gardening with mama. During this pandemic, it's important to care for our loved ones by ensuring they can stay safe and healthy. Sometimes that means keeping our distance, and sometimes that means staying in touch. Sometimes it means a little of both. Here's hoping that you and your loved ones are able to be connected while being apart!

Matthew: Gardening with the kids. We are quite thankful of the work we've had to do. We've also been aware that for kids who can't visit the park or see their friends, it's been a tough time. Thus, we've been careful to set aside as much time as possible for family adventures (even if we never leave the yard).
