SCORP News


International Training on Human Rights Education (ITHRE) s a newly developed online course, with the vision of promoting human rights education as a major focus area in the work of SCORP and IFMSA. It aims to strengthen IFMSA members’, particularly SCORPions’, competence in and commitment to human rights education.

Director On Human Rights and Peace

Mahmood Al-hamody, scorpd@ifmsa.org

1. Meeting with PRCA, to start planning for WRD and discuss futur plans for the PR of SCORP, including the development of the website and the newsletter.
2. Worked on and supported the development of SCORP activities on COVI-19.
3. Finalzed the MM report and follow up, as well as the PreMM evaluation and report.
4. Worked on the WHD campaign in collaboration with fellow SCs.
5. Worked with the LRP on SCORP Nomination for the Student Peace Prize.

Liaison officer for Human Rights and Peace issues

1. Represented IFMSA as a youth speaker in the 1st Webinar of UN Youth Envoy, UNICEF and WHO Webinar series for Mental Health impacts of COVID-19.
2. Finalized and submitted IFMSA reflections on COVID-19: Equity and Ressources.
3. Submitted Student Peace Prize nomination with SCORP D
4. Conducted SCORP's Policy Campaign.
5. Coordinated the Data Collection and Reporting on Healthcare in Danger webinar with Insecurity Insight.

SCORP General Assistant

Maria Krayem, ga.scorp@ifmsa.org

1. Reported on the PreMM Healthcare in Danger Workshop.
2. Started the follow up process of PreMM.
3. Worked on a refugee COVID-19 press release with LRP.
4. Followed up, together with SCORP D, on the GoSCORP events and SCORP Camp, Discussed the way forward and the potential timeline changes due to COVID-19.
5. Supported with the Students Peace Prize proposal.

SCORP CB Development Assistant

1. Online Training HRET along with its proposal was formed.
2. Contacting workshops with the follow up process: workshop reports and resources.
3. Continuing with the Human Rights Capacity Building Drive registrations.
4. PreAM workshop proposals (ITDM, HRMP) drafted and submitted.
5. Online session on Advocacy and Policy Making was delivered to MedSIN Sudan members.

SCORP PR and Communication Assistant

Amine Youcef Ali, prc.scorp@ifmsa.org

1. Follow up on the Protection of Health Services Policy Document SWG with LRP.
2. Designed all policy documents' campaign infographics.
3. Released the SCORP Newsletter 15 in a new format.
4. Finalized the design of SCORP communication guide and uploaded it on the SCORP database.
5. Developing the SCORP database website: Platforms, Workshops, Focus areas and Priorities

SCORP Regional Assistant for Africa

Madeleine Kazindu, ra.scorp.africa@ifmsa.org

1. Had a NORPs general meeting in which we conducted a mid-term reflection. Positive response was given within the mid-term reflection on the work done at national level within SCORP and on the work of the IT with NORPs.
2. Restructured SCORP Africa WhatsApp group; which increased activity sharin and interaction on the group.
3. Participated in three online talks organized by NORPs from MEDSIN-Sudan, IFMSA-South Africa and MSA-Malawi.
4. Held meetings with NORPs of Candidate member NMOs. GAMSA- Gambia, NOHSS-Ivory Coast, MSA-DRC plus the NORP of ZIMSA-Zimbabwe.
5. Establishing a sheet to track SCORP activities and Structure within the region.

SCORP Regional Assistant for the Americas

Ana Paula Estrella, ra.scorp.americas@ifmsa.org

1. Creation of the NORPs Calendar.
2. Drafting the proposal for the SCORP CB Online series with SCORP RA Africa.
3. Finishing the analysis of the NMO report and the NORPs report to send to NMOs.
4. Gave input and did some changes to the advocacy letter - the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
5. Follow up on the inter NMO Campaign of FEVESOCEM Venezuela, AMMEF Mexico, IFMSA Guatemala,IFMSA Honduras, IFMSA Perú

SCORP Regional Assistant for Asia-Pacific

1. Published SCORP NMO Human Rights Issues Article, and NMO activities sharing.
2. Followed up on Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan progress on SCORP activation within their NMOs.
3. Alongisde SCORP RA Europe, created SCORP SWG proposal on Member Engagement.
4. Analysed NORP and NMO Report.
5. Established NORP AP Progress Test.

SCORP Regional Assistant for the EMR

1. Meeting with IFMSA-Egypt NORP and IFMSA-Jo NORP to arrange webinar collaboration.
2. Facilitation of Effect of COVID-19 on vulnerable groups webinar in IFMSA-Iraq online festival.
3. Facilitation of Effect of COVID-19 on children webinar in IFMSA-Egypt's house of Webinar.
4. Finishing analysis of NORPs and NMO report.
5. Participated in UNFPA Youth against COVID19 Campaign.
