HOW DO YOU SHELTER IN PLACE WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE A HOME?
It all fell apart after my mom died; I was only 15 years old. I’ve lived in more places than I can count; well, if you want to count living on sofas and living in cars or on the street. It’s hard to believe that after four years, I have my own place. I no longer have to worry about leaving in the middle of the night. Star House connected me with Ms. Dynell and The Center. She’s been amazing. Ms. Dynell just ordered me a bed and dresser. The towels, sheets, plates and cups will be here any day now. I finally have a place for me and my 3 month old. Wow, I have a safe place to call my own.
HOW DO YOU PRACTICE HAND WASHING WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE REGULAR ACCESS TO RUNNING WATER?
Ms. Dynell even brought me several bottles of hand-soap from Bath and Body Works. I am doing my part to stop the spread. I am also learning how to be a great mom. I have goals to finish school and get a job.
