KU Cancer Center pivots to protect
trial patients in COVID-19 era

The research arm of the KU Cancer Center stepped up to allow patients to opt-in to a study that provided the test in recent weeks and also covered its cost. It is just one of the many ways the KU Cancer Center is working to fight the pandemic.

After the Chancellor and Provost announced on May 1 a phased plan for returning to a physical presence on KU campuses, KU’s Operations staff has outlined a plan to support the safe expansion of on-campus research. The primary goal of KU’s return to campus is to do so as safely as possible while allowing, in this instance, increased research activity.

families in class of 2020 with events

Because this year’s University of Kansas graduates won’t be doing the traditional walk down the Hill on May 17, KU is bringing the spirit of Mount Oread to them with virtual events and a campaign to commemorate the class of 2020.
