New ZI Information from May 17, 2020

Dear Zontians,

May 22, 2020 - New Due date for Delegate & Alternate Credentialing

June 1, 2020 - (but asap preferred) New Due date for Deceased Members to be honored  - or “None.”
Please use this address:  http://membership.zonta.org/Forms/Memorial/Service-Notification-Form

May 25 – USA Memorial Day – ZI closed.

In addition to the high workload at this time of year, Membership Dept. has three new members working under Illinois’ “Stay at home” orders. They ask that you email everything to memberrecords@zonta.org, so whoever is available first will respond to you (instead of waiting for a named member). Expect a response within five business days.

ZI Present Priorities are Convention Needs, Member Dues, Charters & Date Extension Requests. Other issues like entering 2920 – 2022 Club Officer Forms, Membership Recognition will come after.

Please forgive my typo in the Governor’s Letter of May 12, 2020. The first sentence under “Convention Cancellation From Chair Sally Bean” should read – ZI continues working to minimize the financial impact of cancellations – about $810,000. US$.”

Thank you,

Bonnie

Zonta International: Zonta Talks
Zonta Cares: Our Responses to COVID-19 starts in 1 Day

District 4 Presentation made by ZC of Toronto President, Holly Anderson

As a result of the social distancing required during the Covid-19 crisis, the Zonta Club of Toronto, like all Zonta clubs, has had to cancel their annual Spring Birthing Kit assembly event. Among the materials stockpiled for the event, were 4,000 latex gloves.

With the permission of Medical Mart, who supplied the gloves to the Toronto club, all 4,000 gloves were donated to St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto.

"Our front line workers need these products more than ever. Your organization's act of kindness will go a long way." Peter Dennis, Medical Mart

Zonta Golf Classic,

Non-event Raising $20,000

A number of our Zonta Club of Kitchener and Waterloo members have worked in the charitable sector and understand that during a crisis, people want to help in any way they can. We just need to let them know how they can help our organization.

We personally contacted our sponsors to see how they were doing, showing care and concern for their businesses and personal wellbeing. Some allowed us to keep the funds: including our major sponsor ($15,000), and others asked to keep the funds for next year’s tournament or told us they were unable to support us. We thanked them for their past support and wished them well in the coming year. We also made a request to our past golfers, Zonta members and friends of Zonta.

At this time, we have been able to raise over $20,000 and are hoping to receive more funds during the coming months. We feel this has been a very successful non-event and appreciate all the funds raised to date.

Thank you all. Be safe and keep well fellow Zonta members.
