Dear Library Patrons,
As you know, we are living in a time of uncertainty. We are all navigating this the best way we know how. For us, that means our building needs to remain closed. It is what is safest for our staff and for the public.
That being said, we do not consider the "library" closed. Rather, it has moved online. We currently have many digital resources for reading, viewing, listening, and learning. We are sharing many helpful links with you, both about COVID-19, and about things to do around the web. We have moved some of our programming online (and will continue to do so). And we have a fantastic art show on our home page, entitled Isolation:Inspiration. Please spend some time in our virtual art gallery at
wellfleetlibrary.org
On Monday, we are presenting an online program, "Chickens 101". Have you wanted to keep chickens but have been confused about where to begin? Attend our program to learn the basics.
We want to remind you that you will not be accruing any overdue fines at this time, and that the due dates of your materials have been extended for the foreseeable future. You do not need to leave your home, simply to return library materials.
On our homepage, we have subscriptions to the New York Times and the Cape Cod Times (once you have logged into the Cape Cod times, please use the
second link down to find today's paper). We hope you will find these resources useful.
As a reminder, we continue to have Wifi in our parking lot, 24/7. We urge you to remain in your cars while you use the Wifi. This will ensure appropriate distancing.
Please feel free to reach out to me at
jennifer.wertkin@wellfleet-ma.gov with any questions or concerns. You can also call 508-514-1483 between 10:00 and 4:00 if you need assistance with electronic resources, have questions about your patron record, or need a library card.
We are overwhelmed by how many of you have wished us well, during a time when we cannot open our doors. We have always known that our patrons are special, but this is beyond our wildest expectations.
Stay safe and healthy.
All my best to you,
Jennifer Wertkin
Library Director
