Rather then start out my newsletter pointing out the obvious hardships we are all experiencing, I'd prefer to focus on some good news. I'm excited to announce the 8th Annual NC Wreck•Shark Shootout REBOOT June 1-6, 2021. I've made a few comments on social media and sent out courtesy emails to previous attendees and amazingly the event is almost full! That's right, I have nearly 40 names on the list which has inspired me to bring on a 3rd boat to the event. More news on that venture coming soon. Deposits are not required to make your reservation but once the list is full I will send out applications and requests for deposit. Contact me as soon as possible to reserve your spot. 2021 will be a year to put 2020 behind us and I'm optimistic that the WSS will be the best yet.
In addtion to the Shootout, I'm in the process of scheduling the North Carolina Wreck•Tec Expedition for June 2021. Dates will be announced soon but, it is not to early to sign up. Also, no deposit required at this time.
The Truk Lagoon Rec•Tec Expedition on board the Odyssey in Oct of this year is still a go with a follow up trip to Palau immediately thereafter. I'm hoping world travel will be more feasible by this time. We shall see. Contact me if you are considering joining me but are weary about travel restrictions. I'll fill you in on the details.
If you are thinking that Truk Lagoon for 2020 is not going to happen but you are interested in future dates, then consider my trips planned for November 2021 and then another Rec•Tec for Feb 2022. Click on the links for details. See below for a complete list of trips.
The travel ban to Chuuk has been extended until July 31. As of now, I'm still stuck in Truk but, don't feel sorry for me. There's no virus or civil unrest here in the tropical Pacific and I go diving a few times a week on empty wrecks. I'll continue to isolate here on board the Odyssey and hope we return to business soon. Peace!
