A Day of Announcements
<<First Name>>,

This week I am beginning the third week of my classes. I'm enrolled in two courses right now, one is about house churches and the other is about preaching. Specifically, in the preaching course, we are being challenged to ask questions.

I tried to practice this in my message, yesterday, by giving you time to engage with some questions. But also, the practice is about living life by asking good questions. This week, in our devotional, we are going to explore some of the missionary journeys of Paul by asking questions. I want to encourage you to reflect on the stories through asking as many questions as you can.

You can download our daily devotional HERE to help guide you in this practice.

I also want to encourage you to take a moment to sign up for our Prayer Course. The Prayer Course begins on May 27th at 6pm and is a short term course designed to help you grow in your prayer life. I am excited about the opportunity to grow and learn with you during our time together.

Sign up for the Prayer Course by clicking HERE.

Below you can read more information about the prayer course and also an important update about Camp in the Community for this summer.

I am praying for you, please pray for me.

In Christ,

Will

The Prayer Course is an eight week course that explores various topics about prayer. The topics for the Prayer Course are why pray, adoration, petition, intercession, unanswered prayer, contemplation, listening, and spiritual warfare. The course is completely free, but registration is required.

This course is not just an information course. During this course, we will practice prayer. The goal of this time is not just to learn about prayer, but to become better at praying

For the past two years we have hosted Camp in the Community where over 60 children experience a free day camp at our church. This experience has been such a blessing, and we were excited to be a host site again.

Due to the safety concerns, Camp in the Community (and all Holston Conference Camps) will NOT be opening for summer camp. This means that we will NOT host Camp in the Community this summer.

Even though it is not the same, we are working with Camp in the Community, right now, to develop a plan to invite families to participate in camp activities at home. Stay tuned to learn more about these take home camp activities. This is a way for us to bless the families of our community even during these hard days.

Did you miss Sunday worship?
During worship yesterday, we explored God's New Normal for Church and celebrated Holy Communion.

If you missed live worship, you can still participate on demand at the website. Click HERE to go to our worship and message archives. If you found worship helpful, you can also share these videos with your family and friends.
During these times and all times, the ministry of the church continues. Your generosity makes us able to create hope by connecting families and children with the life changing love of Jesus. During these anxious times, this is more important than ever. Please consider giving generously online at decaturumc.com. Or by mailing in your contribution.
