Ohio receives WIIN Grant: Lead Testing Water in Child Care
The US EPA awarded Ohio additional funding for the "Lead Testing in School and Child Care Program Drinking Water" WIIN grant it received in 2019. The Ohio EPA is entering the implementation phase and will making free lead testing available for child care facilities working in partnership with water utility companies Stay tuned for more information on this opportunity.
COAD receives Molina Grant for Pilot Project in Early Care Centers
With support from the Molina Foundation, the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) will be conducting a pilot project to identify and mitigate lead hazards in early care and education centers. COAD will be working with staff in their ECE division to identify existing centers and staff from their training center will be identifying risks and supervising the remediation. EPA on Lead Based Paint Programs during COVID-19
If individuals are unable to complete certification or re-certification of the Abatement or RRP Program due to COVID-19, the US EPA has suggestions and will use discretion in enforcement.
