A message from Anthony Shannon

Hi all,

The NSW Minister for Health has issued a new Public Health Order to ease restrictions on gatherings in NSW. The order came into effect on Friday, 15 May 2020.

These changes mean a number of important community spaces can reopen, including:
  • outdoor public swimming pools, as long as no more than 10 persons swim in the pool at any time
  • outdoor playground equipment in public places
  • outdoor gym equipment in public places
  • skate parks.
People must continue to practice physical distancing in these spaces.

Community centres and libraries remain closed to the public in NSW. As noted previously, centres may continue to provide services to vulnerable members of the public. However, they cannot provide a space for people to gather or socialise.

If you have any questions about how the changes may impact your service, please contact your contract manager or send an email to TEIReform@facs.nsw.gov.au.

Please visit the DCJ COVID-19 response website for more information specific to TEI service providers and continue checking the NSW Government website to stay up to date on COVID-19.

Kind regards,
Anthony Shannon
