A SPECIAL THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone that has continued to come in to shop one at a time for supplies over the last few weeks and to those of you who have phoned us up and kept us busy with phone orders and web orders! Thank you to all the families who gave their Mums vouchers to spend in coming months. Your support has been very much appreciated!

We've enjoyed helping find borders and backings by 'correspondence' (aren't smart phones so useful!) We've loved making custom mystery bundles for generous customers who just wanted to stock their stash and support us at the same time. It's been a very tricky time to be in small business but we know that quilters will continue to be addicted to fabric and we look forward to welcoming you back in store soon!
UPDATED OPENING HOURS

How are you all feeling about this loosening up of social distancing restrictions?? We are finding it a little scary but at the same time exciting to be able to see what you have been making when you can come back in!  Now that restrictions have been eased somewhat and things have been made a little easier to manage now that our children are returning to school, we will return to opening for full days; 10am-4pm. We're also returning to being closed on Tuesdays but looking forward to being open again on Saturdays from this Saturday 24th May. We are staying closed on Sundays for a little while longer while we wait to see how things are going.

UPDATED  HOURS:
MONDAY OPEN 10am -4pm
TUESDAY CLOSED
WEDNESDAY OPEN 10am - 4pm
THURSDAY OPEN 10am - 4pm
FRIDAY OPEN 10 am - 4pm
SATURDAY OPEN 10am - 4pm
SUNDAY CLOSED

We do still have to be mindful of the space requirements per person and so that everyone including staff can continue to maintain a 1.5m distance from each other. So we ask for your patience and cooperation as we continue to limit the numbers of people inside the store. We do our best to be efficient but occasionally there could be a small wait.
WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
We've been busy updating our webshop and have all our Sue Spargo products listed there now. You can buy the Sue Spargo Ellana Wool threads which perfectly match the Sue Spargo's Felted Wool colours. The felted wool is available in three different sizes from a small 7 x 9inch piece, up to a generous 14 x 18 inch piece. The fabulous and eternally popular Sue Spargo Wonderfil Eleganza Perle 8 threads are also available in our webshop.
We have a nice big pile of new books full of new ideas just in. They're going surprisingly fast!
We've had fun making lots of new kits and getting them on the website. Stay tuned for more in the pipeline.
THOUGHTS ABOUT CLASSES
We are very much missing our classes and regular groups. It is a little disheartening to have put together our biggest year of classes yet and have the work undone in a matter of weeks. Sadly, even though restrictions have eased slightly, we do need to continue to be cautious for all our sakes and we will still have the 1.5m space requirement per person regardless of the numbers that the authorities say may get together. We do hope that we can see some groups start up again perhaps during July or maybe late June and perhaps with reduced numbers but it is still bit too early to say. I also have hopes for some the classes scheduled for the second half of the year but decisions will be made on a case by case basis.

We will be communicating with the tutors and each group in the coming weeks with updates so if you are usually a part of a group or class you'll hear from us directly in the coming weeks. We did disable class booking on our website when it all became very uncertain but the class program is still up there. I encourage you to email us if there is a class you would like to express interest in should it go ahead.
CAROL'S LINEN SQUARES
Carol, who is usually in the shop on a Thursday has kitted up a fantastically simple but effective quilt called Linen Squares by Chris Austin. The pattern appeared in the April/May edition of the Homespun Magazine. There are two sizes, a small lap size or a larger throw size and in a mix of the cotton/linen blends by Moda and Robert Kaufman that we carry.
Carol has already made up half of her quilt and it's a winner!! So bold and graphic! You can have a closer look at the quilt in progress in our window at the moment and both sizes of kits are available to purchase in store or on our website in our new growing KIT area. Have a look the kits on the website HERE.  You could make it more masculine by swapping out the pink which we could easily replace.
EYE CANDY - HAVE YOU SEEN THESE YET?
This is 'Ballerina' by Art Gallery Fabrics. A super pretty soft 'hint of blush' collection which we can't resist. It would make a lovely low volume background or build out your pastel stash. Goes perfectly with 'Dollhouse' bundle bottom left. The Ballerina 6 X FQ bundle is $42.
If you haven't been in for a while you might have missed this great stash builder collection of 'Palette Pleasures'. The perfect stripe and spot!! The complete 16 x FQ bundle is $96. 'All spot' or 'all stripe' and fat 1/8th bundles also available.
Just call ph 4464 3387.
OUR TEACHERS BUSY MAKING SAMPLES
What have our teachers been up to while we've all been on Corona Break?? I know that just like us they have all been desperately missing their classes! But there has been a lot of ISO sewing and planning going on!! Here are a couple of new works underway by Jen Corkish and Sheena Chapman.
Jennifer Corkish, who usually runs two monthly classes with us revolving mostly around hand appliqué, stitch embellishment or EPP, is working on a fabulous new EPP project featuring Jen Kingwell's Lollies fabrics.
Sheena Chapman also usually runs two monthly groups for us that are all about enjoying improvising using vintage and contemporary fabrics has been working hard on her Fruit Loops quilt. Fabulous borders!!
ISO SEWING AT HOME
Melissa is a new quilter and has been well and truly bitten by the fabric bug during lockdown and has been sewing up a storm. This is her 'Hidden Charms' by Helen Draper using the new Clementine Charm Pack. It's so bright and pretty! Well done Melissa!! Go Girl!
Sarah has made quite a few quilts in the last little while but in ISO she has whipped up a fantastic scrappy star for a new baby. It was inspired by a quilt in Melissa Corey's book Charming Baby Quilts. I love the fresh green shot cotton background!!
Thanks for reading!
We look forward to seeing you in store soon!
