Contributing to the global response to COVID-19, here at Health Translation SA we are connecting researchers, the health system, clinicians and decision makers to ensure that the South Australian COVID-19 response is well informed, effective and efficient.

SA COVID-19 RESEARCH REGISTER 5TH EDITION
The purpose of this register is to:
- capture and promote COVID-19 research projects taking place in SA
- support coordination and collaboration between researchers, institutions, health services and industry
- reduce duplication of research
- maximise impact of COVID-19 research
- position SA for upcoming COVID-19 funding opportunities.

SA COVID-19 EVIDENCE TASKFORCE
We are working with SAHMRI, SA Health and the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health to mobilise the rapid synthesis of COVID-19 evidence.
This is helping to inform the planning and decision making of the SA COVID-19 Taskforce, especially the Chief Public Health Officer. These ‘Evidence Updates’ are developed in response to specific questions from the SA COVID-19 Taskforce on a daily basis and are coordinated by Professor Caroline Miller at SAHMRI.

COVID-19 Mental Health Support web portal
Support Campaign Pack

SA Health is running a campaign to inform South Australians of the network of support services that are available and encourage the community to access help from these services when they need it.
The COVID-19 Mental Health Support web portal has information about our Virtual Support Network services and other resources to support the mental health of South Australians.
The linked campaign pack is for South Australian government agencies, local government, GPs and healthcare providers, businesses and other organisations. You can download the visual communication tools in the campaign pack at this Dropbox link.
It includes a variety of communication tools including:
- Information about the web portal and Virtual Support Network services
- Social media graphics
- Other graphics (TV screens/email banner)
- Poster
- SA COVID-19 Mental Health Support Line Flyer

Call for Expression of Interest
The National Breast Cancer Foundation Grant
Are you a patient survivor of breast cancer (or a carer or family member), or been affected by breast cancer in your life? The National Breast Cancer Foundation Grant research team is looking for someone from the public to help.
The research team, led by Dr Terry Boyle from the University of South Australia, would like to conduct a proof-of-concept study to understand the risk breast cancer survivors have of experiencing negative outcomes including depression, fatigue, and poor sleep quality, based on a range of demographic, clinical, genetic, and behavioural variables.
Your activities will include helping to frame the overarching research question, shaping decisions about the research sub-questions and methodology, and devising the consumer engagement strategy for the project.

> Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Showcase 2020
in February this year, the National Indigenous Research(er) Capacity Building Network (IRNet), an initiative of AHRA, hosted their first event as part of a strategy to facilitate and coordinate networking opportunities for people engaged in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research. The IRNet Showcase, hosted by Health Translation SA and SAHMRI, was attended by more than 180 people over two days.

The Department of Health is seeking interest from a range of stakeholders to assist in MRFF grant review and assessment processes as a member of a Grant Assessment Committee for a number of 2019-20 MRFF grant opportunities. It is not essential to have a research qualification to contribute to MRFF grant assessment.

> CANCELLED: NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, NHMRC will not hold the annual Symposium on Research Translation in 2020. NHMRC will use this year to explore suitable themes and innovative structures for a future Symposium and will provide further updates as they become available.
