Further Extension of Temporary Measures at Yangon International Airport [Up to 31 May 2020]: In order to continue to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Myanmar effectively, the National Central Committee for Prevention, Control, and Treatment of COVID-19 has decided to further extend the effective period of the Temporary Measures up to 31 May 2020 2359 Hours MST by the notification issued on 14 May 2020.
Myanmar Extends Ban on Gatherings, Int’l Flights, Other COVID-19 Measures: Myanmar’s government has extended restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19 including a ban on public gatherings and the suspension of visas and international flights until May 31.
Myanmar’s Major Cities to Ease Some COVID-19 Business Restrictions: Myanmar’s hardest-hit region for COVID-19, Yangon, will ease some restrictions in four townships as no new cases have been reported for 20 days, State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said on Wednesday.
Mandalay Region reopens over 100 highway bus lines: The highway bus lines have all been suspended starting from April to prevent the spreading of coronavirus disease. Now, the Mandalay regional government has allowed them all to resume their transportation service, operating in the towns in Mandalay region starting from 16 May, according to the regional bus line supervisory committee (highway).
Yangon government relaxes curfew hours during COVID-19 crisis: Yangon region government on Friday announced the relaxation of two hours to a dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed in the region amid the fear of infectious COVID-19 spread. According to a report by Xinhua the curfew hour was changed to 12 am to 4 am from the previous 10 pm to 4 am local time.
