The TLaWC Board has decided that there is good reason to progress the idea of a Taungurung flag.
At some stage later this year there will be a significant celebration of the Taungurung Agreement and that will be a great opportunity to unfurl a new Taungurung flag – an expression of Taungurung sovereignty.
Given that it is still likely to be a while before large groups of people can get together, it is our intention to directly approach Taungurung artists to invite them to provide a design that could then be adopted and embraced by all Taungurung people.
Any other Taungurung person is also welcome to lodge a design.
We are now seeking designs and a Board sub-Committee will select the best two or three designs, to be put to a vote of the Taungurung people to make the final decision.
