Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Christ is Risen! - Христос Воскресе! - Christos Anesti!

Below is the schedule of services for this week and important information concerning Holy Confession & Communion.

Tuesday, May 19.    Online class on Orthodoxy by Metropolitan Jonah - 7:30 PM. Note from Peter Norris: Zoom is a meeting app that is very easy to use. You can use your computer or smartphone, as long as it has an internet connection and browser, or you can even dial in with a non-smart phone for just the audio. Just click on the link below from a computer or smart phone, or call the closest phone number below for an older phone. Its best if you are on wifi so you won't use your data. We will start congregating online around 7:20pm Tuesday, and, especially if you are new to zoom, I suggest joining earlier rather than later. Please feel free to call me 240-505-1476 if you have connection issues. [PS: If you see a note about your privacy, choose the "Opt-out" option so they don't share your email or other data.]

Here are the connection details ...

We are offering two slots for Holy Communion on Friday, May 22 and four on Sunday, May 24.  Please do not call or write me asking for registration. Use the sign-up genius form to register https://sugeni.us/ctpE

Before registering, please carefully consider these important reminders:

  • You must be a baptized Orthodox Christian in order to receive the Mysteries of Holy Communion
  • If you and/or your loved ones at home are not feeling well, or you could have been exposed to the virus COVID-19 - do not sign up or cancel your signup if symptoms appeared after you have registered
  • For all interested parishioners to be able to commune, please do not overuse this sign-up system.
  • When signing up, be sure to include the full names of all those registering for the Communion in the cell "Names for all communicants".
  • No more than eight (8) people are allowed per slot. Please do not bring anyone extra who is not already signed up - they will not be allowed to commune.
  • Be on time for the service or you will be locked out.
  • When arriving for the Holy Communion, please do not wait near the Church porch but stay in your cars and go straight to the doors of the premise you are assigned to only 2 minutes before the rite beginning time.
    • Those assigned to the Parish Library should enter the front door – please use the brick case leading to the second floor of the Parish House. Do not use the back door or entrance on the ground floor.
    • Those assigned to St George House should enter the door on Shepherd Street.
    • Those assigned to the Church should enter the main entrance of the Church.
    • Wear gloves and a mask when you arrive for Communion. If you don’t have them, we will be glad to provide you with a pair of gloves and a mask at your entry to either Parish Library or St George House respectively.
    • Always stay 6 feet away from each other.
    • No lingering after communion. Proceed to your cars immediately after receiving Holy Communion, followed by zapivka.

These simple measures should allow us to comply with the DC regulations that the maximum number of people to gather together is nine (9), as well as to avoid unnecessary anxiety from neighbors so that they do not misunderstand the scope or the nature of our services in these difficult times.

It is our desire for all our parishioners to have the chance to receive the Holy Gifts. But we need your full cooperation. Please follow all the outlined rules rigorously. For us to be able to continue in this manner of confession and communion, we need to work together accurately, calmly, prayerfully, and peacefully.

In XC,
Fr. Victor
