Some details and the link for our next Messy Church this Friday, details of the Malling Deanery Ascension Day service (not Zoom this time, but provided as a YouTube Premiere) and some more family ideas.
Messy Church on Friday 22nd May
On Friday this week, we will be holding Messy Church again, via Zoom, starting at 4pm.
Our theme this week is the feeding of the 5000, so please could you find a picture to colour of the feeding of the 5000, or a picture of bread or fishes or both ... or please make a model of either, or maybe bake some bread (probably best not to bring any fish!).
If you would like to learn the song, it's called 'One Basket' and it's on YouTube here.

The link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86888958904?pwd=clVEU3NtUnM5cXhnSnNxdyswOXcvUT09

Meeting ID: 868 8895 8904. Password: 425568. Please join from 3.45pm.

Looking forward to seeing you!
Ascension Day - Thursday 21st May
This Thursday is Ascension Day, the day that Jesus left the disciples and rose to heaven.

Ascension Day Service

A number of people from around the deanery have put together a short service which will be premiered on our You Tube channel at 6pm on Thursday evening. The link is: https://youtu.be/7FkNt8gcc_E
With Revd Jane Winter preaching. Led by Revd David Green, West Malling, where the service was due to be held.

A Reading

This is how Luke records the Ascension at the end of chapter 24:

He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, "This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

The Collect for Ascension Day

Grant, we pray, almighty God,
that as we believe your only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ
to have ascended into the heavens,
so we in heart and mind may also ascend
and with him continually dwell;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
