Betty Wold Johnson, 1921 - 2020
With sadness, we share the news of the passing of Betty Johnson earlier this month. Though a person of great means, she dedicated her time and efforts to helping the neediest, whether through support of civic associations in her own community, or helping the most vulnerable facing tremendous challenges due to homelessness, disabilities, or chronic illness.
Over more than 20 years, she has come to the aid of ACMH with targeted gifts, whether to provide a garden at a residence (gardening being one of her passions), seed new care coordination work to connect to hard-to reach New Yorkers facing tremendous odds, or providing other extras, like a solarium, overlooking the gardens of course, at a residence where young adults coming from residential treatment facilities for children and adolescents could make sure to make exercise a part of their transition to independent living. And Betty didn’t only preach; she practiced the importance of staying physically active up until the end.
ACMH celebrates the life, generosity and legacy of Betty Johnson.
