Coronavirus Update 
Supplies in rural and remote areas
I called on the supermarkets to guarantee supplies are delivered to rural and remote areas through the coronavirus pandemic. While there may still be some products missing, supplies are picking up and purchase restrictions have eased.  
Respiratory clinics 
Respiratory clinics are opening up across regional Australia. In Maranoa currently, respiratory clinics are operating in St George, Warwick with Longreach opening soon. If you have a cough, sneeze or fever I encourage you to call and make an appointment. 

Assistance 
Visit treasury.gov.au/coronavirus to keep up to date on what support is available for you, your family or business through the $320 billion stimulus package. 
Expanding Mobile Coverage 
Eleven mobile base stations are scheduled to roll out across Maranoa by the end of the year through Round 5 of the Mobile Black Spot Program, including:
 
Remote Airstrip Upgrades
Remote airstrips are lifelines in the Bush. Eight remote airstrips around Maranoa will be upgraded with $729,656 through the Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program. Airstrips set for upgrades include:  Augathella and Adavale, Isisford and Ilfracombe, Aramac and Blackall, Birdsville and Taylors Plains, Mungallala. 
Boosting Our Shows
Shows bring everyone together for a good time and encourage visitors to learn more about our way of life. More than $3.4 million is being invested to upgrade show facilities around Maranoa, including: 
Allora   Blackall   Bell   Cooyar and Crows Nest   Cunnamulla   Goondiwindi   Longreach   Miles and Wandoan   Mitchell   Stanthorpe   Tambo
Country of Origin Labelling: McDonalds at the Table 
Finally after 2 years of trying to get the big fast food franchises to sign up to Country of Origin Labelling, McDonalds has led the way. Australians should know where their food is grown and our farmers should have to opportunity to supply even more.
 
Drought Communities Programme
The Western Downs and South Burnett regional councils have each received $1 million through the Drought Communities Programme Extension to boost public infrastructure, including roads. 
$1.2 Million for Emergency Relief Providers Serving Maranoa 
Care Balonne, St Vincent de Paul and The Salvation Army are just a few of the emergency relief providers who are supporting people in Maranoa through COVID-19. An injection of $1.2 million for emergency relief providers servicing Maranoa will offer extra support in the wake of the COVID-19 economic downturn. Renewable Methane Production Coming to Wallumbilla
We've invested $1.1 million to help build a renewable methane demonstration plant in Wallumbilla, which could pave the way for a boom in green gas and new job opportunities.
