Join Legal News and DAC Beachcroft for an event to help firms understand the importance of employee well-being at all times and during the pandemic, and the relevance of this issue to the SRA. We will also highlight useful examples where firms have failed to consider this issue.

This FREE one-hour online event will also provide some practical tips and a Q&A session for participants.

What to expect

Clare Hughes-Williams and Tom Bedford of DAC Beachcroft, both of whom specialise in defending solicitors from claims and regulatory action brought by the SRA, will discuss:

  1. The importance of employee well-being in the context of avoiding claims, particularly in the current operating environment;
  2. The relevance of this issue to the SRA in light of the new Code of Conduct for firms;
  3. Examples of problems which can arise, and cases they have seen where firms have failed to properly consider well-being and supervision;
  4. Practical tips to ensure well-being is maintained and the risks of claims and/or disciplinary action are mitigated.

With increasing talk about when the country will come out of lockdown, Brewin Dolphin Wealth Management joins Legal News to explore what the economic data is showing to help lawyers and their clients plan for their future.

Covid-19 has affected many businesses across the UK, not least within the legal profession.

Businesses and professional services are facing a difficult time, whether through limited access to clients during the lockdown, or through a contraction in economic and purchasing activity.

Join us for this free online event on Thursday 14 May, 12:30 – 13:30, hosted via Zoom.

Who should attend?

Anyone working in or with the legal profession.

Join LawCare & Junior Lawyers Division Cardiff for a wellbeing refresh & mindfulness pitstop during Mental Health Awareness Week 2020.

**THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL - NOT JUST JUNIOR LAWYERS!**

Join us for a coffee / beverage of choice and a catch up to kick off Mental Health Awareness Week 2020!

Last year the JLD organised a series of events for MHAW – including a panel discussion which saw over 70 people in the same room discussing mental health (it seems so long ago that we were allowed to sit within 2 metres of each other).

We are now seven (but who’s counting?!) weeks into lockdown and the JLD is keen to host a well-overdue catch-up for junior lawyers in the area – and avoid allowing lockdown get in the way of Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 (18th – 22nd May).

Join us for an informal catch-up to share your lockdown stories and concerns.

We will end the event with a short mindfulness session from Mary Jackson at LawCare.
