Kotsar wins scholar-athlete award »

Maik Kotsar came a long way in his career at South Carolina, and he's looking forward to making a difference for children in his native Estonia when his basketball playing days are done. The senior men's basketball student-athlete has been named South Carolina's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Remaining survey information to be collected by departments

The return to campus survey distributed last week is providing valuable insights to ensure the health and safety of all employees as the university prepares for the reopening of campus. Departments will follow up with individuals who have not submitted a survey so the concerns and circumstances of every employee can be considered in the next phase.

But immunology researchers Prakash Nagarkatti and Mitzi Nagarkatti say one thing is clear: With no effective treatment options, survival against the coronavirus infection depends completely on the patient’s immune response.
