Hello Members

I know it has been difficult recently with the "stay at home" requirements and not having the ability to play tennis.

Yesterday the State Government relaxed some measures which have been in place for the past 7 weeks.

Today, Tennis Victoria and Manningham City Council confirmed that, with some restrictions, tennis could resume in a limited fashion.

Unfortunately, tennis will have some restrictions for the next 2 weeks or so. A further Victorian Government review is due on 31 May 2020.

Firstly, if you or anyone you want to play with have even the slightest sign of Flu - runny nose cough sore throat - PLEASE do not come to the Club.

The club will reopen to members from Thursday 14 May 2020 with the following restrictions - Please read, Understand and follow them:

1.   The Clubhouse is closed to everyone at all times.

2.   Only players should be on the court - maximum 4 per court. No group of members/visitors can exceed 10 persons in total.

3.   As we expect a large number of members wanting to get back on to the courts - we ask members to play for only one hour. We request you "attend, play for one hour, then go home" - no staying at the club to watch others or wait for another turn to play.

4.   As the club is not able to ensure the outside toilet is satisfactorily cleaned and disinfected after any use please note that for the next couple of weeks NO TOILET will be open.

5. We request that members bring their own hand sanitiser with them and use it before entering the club grounds, during your time on court and as you leave the club.

6. Each member is to bring their own full water bottle as drinking fountains are not to be used at any time.

7.   Members should also continue with social distancing (1.5metres apart), no physical contact at all (no hand shakes, high fives etc). Please also be aware of the Governments COVID-19 requirements.

Council have advised that Police will be doing spot checks and individuals are liable to a fine of $1652 each and the club $9986 for any breaches.Our continued approval to open depends on each member to do the right thing.

So I ask all members to comply with the above for the next 2 weeks or so until the next State Government review. I hope we can fully open the club at that stage.

On a separate issue, works have started on the resurfacing of courts 6 & 12. This means as well as those courts being unavailable, court 11 is also closed.
