Doing Business... in the Silence
|
|
"When all voices, sounds, agitations, and mental debates are put away, and a pure stillness and peace and reconciliation are present, then God speaks to us... The more profound possibilities of our human nature become visible to us, enabling us gradually to grow into what we know we are meant to be... And in the same measure that we come alive to our own possibilities, we become alive and alert as well to the needs and to the possibilities of others.
"Thus we discover a way of life worthy of our profoundest enthusiasm, and by living it fully and faithfully we, in fact, do not labor for ourselves alone. For so to live is to let our lives pour out teaching like prophecy; so to live is to help make this world a place worthy of all people, so to live is to prepare a place where future generations can make their home. "
Daniel A. Seeger, 2002. Excerpts from "The Mystical Path: Pilgrimage to the One Who Is Always Here".

Nancy Cady
As many of you already know, Nancy Cady died on April 20, 2020. Her obituary, provided by her family, can be found here. Several members of the Meeting have provided support to her daughter Leyla, son Danny, who live locally and sister Norma in Colorado. Under the auspices of Adelphi Cares, we'll continue to maintain contact with them and discuss a memorial service at a time when we can gather together in person. In the meantime, we'd like to put together memories of Nancy to share with her family. Please send memories about Nancy and your thoughts for her family to Lynn Hardesty by May 29. We'll compile these and provide copies to her close family members.

(2) the date and time,
(3) recurring or one time only – if it is recurring, what is the schedule (2nd Tuesday of the month), including beginning and ending dates,
(4) contact person, and
(5) any special considerations (e.g., you need a technical person to help out or to host, you need someone to control breakout rooms).

An ad hoc committee, led by Catherine Vanderwaart, is considering alternate ways to build community and raise funds for charitable programs, in place of the Strawberry Festival in its usual form.
