GEIT Working Committee
Gender Equitable Investment in Tech
During this time of uncertainty, remote working, and social distancing, strong and compassionate leadership is crucial for leading effective teams and businesses. Coming back from COVID will require our global community to be innovative, flexible, thinking, combined with a willingness to change. It will also require that we appreciate each other's differences and make smart decisions with them. We will have to achieve all this in a socially-distanced world, where we can no longer rely on many of the cues that face to face communications provides our teams but instead must function by using a better managed often-distributed team collective intelligence.

In order to help you meet these challenges, the EQUALS GEIT Working Committee is excited to announce three upcoming EQUALS affiliated webinars this month. Continue reading to find out more and we look forward to virtually seeing you.

UN Women, EQUALS and Women2.0 present a GEIT supported virtual panel on "Accessing Investors and Caputal during COVID-19". The last several weeks have changed the startup and investing world drastically. One of the most prominent issues for founders who were either in the fundraising process or have fundraising on their roadmap for 2020 is how access to investors and capital and what the next 12 months could look like.

This virtual panel of industry experts will showcase opportunities for small and medium-sized startups and companies, especially for those led by women. We'll highlight the current landscape, opportunities for both venture capital and alternative finance, and how you can best prepare yourself.

Combinate Leadership Training for Collective Intelligence
May 20, 2020 | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM EDT

Combinate, a GEIT affiliate,  presents a leadership webinar on maximizing team effectiveness through collective intelligence during COVID times.  The Combinate Leadership Training for Collective Intelligence training becomes all the more critical in COVID-19 time. Research and experiences show that biases and discrimination get amplified by stress, moving teams towards greater self-selection and homogeneity. This self-selecting behavior while comforting to our natural emotional triggers actually leads to the marginalization of more team members. Ironically while this behavior is a natural response to stress, the results are counter-productive in terms of organizational performance.

Combinate clearly links leadership for business outcomes and performance to collective intelligence and provides easily actionable interventions that everyone can practice without disruption. This training focuses on teaching leaders the skills they need to unleash their organization's collective intelligence and potential for innovation, through the effective measurement and management of organizational collective intelligence, which also results in greater diversity, inclusion, and equity.
