Transition Planning

MEAM has launched a working document to help local areas and the new national rough sleeping taskforce consider the next phase of the response to COVID-19. Read our blog here.

HCLG Committee inquiry into COVID-19 and homelessness

MEAM has provided written evidence to the Committee's inquiry into the impact of Coronavirus on people who are homeless. The committee has published all responses here. 

Ask the Network Series 

MEAM is producing a series of recordings and blogs focused on multiple disadvantage and COVID-19.

This week, we've produced two videos, where we've spoken to Dr Roya Vaziri from Humankind and Dr Helen Chidlow from Spectrum about substance misuse services and the health of people experiencing multiple disadvantage.

Latest policy news - COVID-19

Government sets out recovery strategy

The government has published its strategy to re-open the economy and society in a phased manner. The furlough scheme has been extended until October.

Domestic abuse fund prospectus launched

The government has published details of how to apply to the domestic abuse emergency support fund. Applications close on May 21st.  

£6m ringfenced for homelessness charities

The government announced on May 7th that £6m would be made available for homelessness charities. This is part of the £76m announced on May 2nd.

Care Act Easements briefing published 

The Commons Library research team has produced a briefing on the Care Act Easements that have been enabled under the Coronavirus Act 2020. This is also the focus of Video 6 of our Ask the Network series.

Four new ICS regions announced by NHS

The NHS has announced 4 new Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in England. These will form in Yorkshire, south London, Sussex, and Hertfordshire & west Essex.

Changes in illicit drug markets

The BBC looks at how illicit drug market are changing during the COVID-19 crisis, and its impact on young people.

Mind, alongside others, launched Our Frontline, a combination of 1-2-1 support and online resources for NHS workers, carers, the Blue Light emergency services and key workers who are putting their mental health under pressure

Collective Voice News

Collective Voice has relaunched the Slack Community "Making a Difference Together" for colleagues interested in closer collaboration for people experiencing drug and alcohol problems.

Collaborate CIC

Collaborate has published its thoughts on how we can think about the systems change in the context of COVID-19.

Phoenix Futures has published a blog about the response to Coronavirus.

Civil Society 

Civil Society has collated a list of some of the funding being made available for charities during the COVID-19 emergency.

Charity Excellence Framework

CEF has created a free Covid-19 searchable funder database along with assessment and toolkits.
