UPDATE FROM SOUTH AFRICA

We were very much looking forward to our international guest visiting us this year, there is a slimmer of hope...

South Africa is still in lockdown.  We moved from Level 5 (only food and medicine was open for business)  in April to Level 4 (Food and medicine and some essential services like repairs, communication, etc. opened up) from the 1st of May and to Level 3 the first of June.  Level 3 clothing stores, mining, fast food and liquor stores opened up.  People that can work from home is still urged to do so, but the rest is allowed to go back to work.  Schools is suppose to open for Graad 7 and 12 learners only from the 1st of June but safety measures is not yet in place so this did not happen yet.

We are all fine, healthy and safe.  The PH's are chomping at the bit to do some Trophy Hunting.
The wildebeest in Africa migrate every year, as we know, in search of food to survive. When they reach the Mara river, the crocodiles are waiting. They know this and they know they will lose a few when they cross but for the sake of the survival of the herd, they cross anyway. They have done this successfully for hundreds of years and survived.
Implementing lockdown is like putting up a fence to prevent the wildebeest from crossing the Mara river to save those that would be eaten by the crocodiles, and as a result, the whole herd dies of starvation!
